 Baldos is the name of the car that, during eight months, was constructed and manufactured by final-year-students at Luleå University of Technology, LTU. The students behind Baldos has together with LTU accepted the challange to manufacture a vehicle as fuel-efficient as possible. Baldos took the first place in Shell Eco Marathon 2008 and we are very pleased over the result. Not only did we drive furthest on one litre of gasoline (299 km), but we also took price in technichal innovation and last but not least a world record in the least emmissions of CO2 (6 g/km). The purpose of this project is to encourage innovation in the area of transport and propellant and thus explore new solutions on future cars with respect to the environment. The race took place in southern France on the Nogaro track, May 22-24th 2008. The whole student team plus supervisors was there together and we has a very nice time when winning the Shell Eco-marathon 2008 by far. Many, many thanks to all our sponsors. Without you, this project would not have succeeded as well as it did. We are hoping for a continuous cooperation with you next year as LTU will participate in Shell Eco-marathon 2009 in Germany.
